Samsung uncovers the Galaxy Note 2

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is finally official. The second installment in the highly successful phablet series made its introduction at the Samsung pre-IFA press conference & affirmed most of the gossips from the previous few weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is configured around a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display churning out 1280x720 pixels resolution (a decrease from the 1280x800 resolution of the first Note). The Exynos 4 Quad chip has its quad core processor clocked-in at 1.6GHz, accompanied by 2GB of RAM & a hefty 3,100mAh battery on board. The Note 2 is essentially slimmer in comparison with its forerunner at 9.4mm (the Galaxy Note is 9.65mm broad) & only 2 grams heavier, at 180g. There is an 8MP snapper on the rear & a 1.9MP on the front.

The S-Pen has been revamped as well – it is longer & broader resulting in more ergonomic body. Moreover, the stylus has acquired a number of exciting new tricks. One of them is named Air View, which permits users to hover the S Pen over a mail, video, the gallery, video, etc. to preview the content without having to actually start the application. Also, the stylus is able of a new gesture known as Quick Command, which allows tech buffs to swiftly activate recurrently used applications.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 deals arrives with support for both HSPA+ & 4G LTE. This phablet will come in 16 GB, 32 GB & 64GB memory options with the room for further expansion. It will be launched initially in the European market and then in other markets. Sadly, pricing details are still not disclosed.
